May 9, 2011: Sheila Glad Navy Seals Took A Dog With Them And Not A Cat

May 9, 2011 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Sheila the Family Wonderdog is one proud pooch today. Watching the news between her 22-hour naps and catered meals, she learned that a dog was included on the raid that brought down Osama bin Laden in his million dollar goat pen in the luxurious suburbs of the world’s great tourist destination, Abbottbad, Pakistan.  A dog.  Hanging out with Navy Seals.  Dang.  Life doesn’t get … [Read more...] about May 9, 2011: Sheila Glad Navy Seals Took A Dog With Them And Not A Cat

May 2, 2011: Score One For The Good Guys. Bin Laden Swims With The Fish.

May 2, 2011 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Shazam!  It is great to be an American! Osama bin Laden is deader than a doornail and sleeping with the fish.  May he rot in Hell and may those who danced around and burned American flags after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, which killed more than 3,000 innocent people end up there with him -- minus their virgins. Applause to President Barack Obama, who changed a … [Read more...] about May 2, 2011: Score One For The Good Guys. Bin Laden Swims With The Fish.

April 25, 2011: Why Are We So Unhappy In The Great State Of Georgia?

April 25, 2011 by webmaster Leave a Comment

I feel like a failure. For years, I have told you what a privilege it is to live in the Great State of Georgia. We have beautiful mountains, pristine beaches, the oldest state-chartered university in the nation, located in Athens, the Classic City of the South as well as Vidalia onions and more concrete fishponds than you can count. And we are unhappy. Where have I gone … [Read more...] about April 25, 2011: Why Are We So Unhappy In The Great State Of Georgia?

April 18, 2011: Recognizing The Intrepid Public Servants Of The 2011 Legislative Session

April 18, 2011 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Yarbrough Worldwide Media and Pest Control Company located in Greater Garfield, Georgia, is pleased to recognize members of the 2011 General Assembly who gave so much so that we could get so little. Please hold your applause until all our honorees have been recognized. Otherwise, we could be here until the Legislature returns in August. Nobody wants … [Read more...] about April 18, 2011: Recognizing The Intrepid Public Servants Of The 2011 Legislative Session

April 11, 2011: A Look At Current Events With Skeeter Skates

April 11, 2011 by webmaster Leave a Comment

It has been over a year since I have talked to Skeeter Skates, owner of Skeeter’s Tree Stump Removal and Plow Repair in Greater Metropolitan Pooler. As long-time readers of this column know, Skeeter is the king of tree stump removal and has no peer when it comes to his deft touch with the Stump Eater Model SG-22 with bi-directional cutting disc and spring-loaded pivot. The … [Read more...] about April 11, 2011: A Look At Current Events With Skeeter Skates

Dicktations: Here’s What I’m Thinking

State Sen.Steve Gooch, R-Dahlonega, has announced he is running for lieutenant governor.  Gooch is the guy who said that approving permits to strip-mine the Okefenokee for titanium dioxide to manufacture, among other things, toothpaste whitener is not a legislative matter.  It is up to the bureaucrats to decide. This, despite overwhelming opposition from Georgians across the state.  File that away and remember it when it comes time to vote.  I know I will. … [Read More...] about A long memory

Yarbrough received over 1,000 email responses last year – both positive and negative. Though most of the emails he receives support his viewpoints, one thing is for sure: Dick Yarbrough’s column speaks to people and they respond. Here is a sampling of email responses Yarbrough has received in the past:

  • Thanks for writing what we all are thinking.
  • I am annoyed by anybody who presumes to know what Georgians think.  And that, sir, includes you.
