July 17, 2022 by webmaster Leave a Comment

I may be one of the few people on the planet that has not seen “Top Gun Maverick.”  As of this writing the film, starring Tom Cruise and a sequel to the 1986 hit, “Top Gun,” has grossed over $1 billion at the box office and shows no signs of landing anytime soon. Someone who has seen the movie is a former Top Gun himself, Hans Trupp, a long-time friend and real estate … [Read more...] about July 10, 2022: A Real Top Gun Talks About The Top Gun Movie And More

Zzzzzzzzzzz! Snort! Snort! Smack! Zzzzzzzzzzz! “Donald. Donald. Please wake up, Donald! I need to talk to you!” “Snort! Umpff! What? Hey, who are you and how did you get into Mar-a-Largo? As a matter of fact, how did you get in my bedroom, you pervert? I’m calling Secret Service. They will have your fanny tossed in jail before I can say Sean Hannity!” “That won’t be … [Read more...] about July 3, 2022: Donald Trump And The Ghost Of Elections Past

June 19, 2022: Is Our Democracy In Danger Of Eroding Away?

June 26, 2022 by webmaster Leave a Comment

We all know the story of how to boil a frog to death (Frog lovers: I’m not suggesting you do so, I’m just trying to make a point here.)  The premise is that if you suddenly plopped a frog into boiling water, it would jump out. But if the frog is put in lukewarm water which is then very slowly brought to a boil, it won’t recognize the danger. And before the frog knows what … [Read more...] about June 19, 2022: Is Our Democracy In Danger Of Eroding Away?

June 12, 2022: Now That Primaries Are Over, What Will “RITOO” Republicans Do?

June 14, 2022 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Okay, RITOOs (Republicans in Trump’s Orbit Only), what’s next? Planning on sitting out November’s general election in a funk so that Democrats can elect Stacey Abrams governor and give Georgia four or perhaps eight years of left-leaning policies? If so, you will deserve every bill passed, every act ratified, every liberal gubernatorial appointment made to every department, … [Read more...] about June 12, 2022: Now That Primaries Are Over, What Will “RITOO” Republicans Do?

Dicktations: Here’s What I’m Thinking

State Sen.Steve Gooch, R-Dahlonega, has announced he is running for lieutenant governor.  Gooch is the guy who said that approving permits to strip-mine the Okefenokee for titanium dioxide to manufacture, among other things, toothpaste whitener is not a legislative matter.  It is up to the bureaucrats to decide. This, despite overwhelming opposition from Georgians across the state.  File that away and remember it when it comes time to vote.  I know I will. … [Read More...] about A long memory

Yarbrough received over 1,000 email responses last year – both positive and negative. Though most of the emails he receives support his viewpoints, one thing is for sure: Dick Yarbrough’s column speaks to people and they respond. Here is a sampling of email responses Yarbrough has received in the past:

  • Thanks for writing what we all are thinking.
  • I am annoyed by anybody who presumes to know what Georgians think.  And that, sir, includes you.
