September 28, 2025: Survey Confirms Why the Great State Of Georgia Is Great

October 6, 2025 by webmaster Leave a Comment

It is my obligation as your modest-yet-much-beloved scribe to remind you of important stuff others tend to overlook.  Only here will you read that broccoli can be detrimental to your well-being unless you consume large amounts of banana pudding as a cure.  Or, that You-Know-Where-Institute of Technology is facing an educational crisis.  They are graduating more engineers than … [Read more...] about September 28, 2025: Survey Confirms Why the Great State Of Georgia Is Great

September 21, 2025: There Is No Telling How 2026 Gubernatorial Primaries Will Turn Out

September 30, 2025 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Before I tell you what I am about to tell you, I need to tell you this:  Back in 2001, as incumbent Democratic Gov. Roy Barnes was gearing up for a second term, a know-it-all columnist wrote, “I hear people say Roy Barnes will have a tough reelection.  Forget it.  Roy Barnes will easily win a second term.”  Oops. Despite leading all the pre-election polls and outspending his … [Read more...] about September 21, 2025: There Is No Telling How 2026 Gubernatorial Primaries Will Turn Out

September 14, 2025: Junior E. Lee Provides An Ungodly Look At Politics

September 22, 2025 by webmaster Leave a Comment

According to a new Pew Research Center report, most U.S. adults say God played no role at all in the last two presidential elections.  About one-third of Americans say that recent election results are part of God’s overall plan but don’t necessarily mean God approved of the winner’s policies. Only a few respondents say God chose the winners because of their policies. I have … [Read more...] about September 14, 2025: Junior E. Lee Provides An Ungodly Look At Politics

September 7, 2025: A Semi-Intelligent Look At Artificial Intelligence

September 17, 2025 by webmaster Leave a Comment

Dr. Geoffrey Hinton, is a British-Canadian cognitive psychologist and computer scientist who won the Nobel Prize in Physics last year “for foundational discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks.”  Between you and me, I got hosed. I should have been a winner. The Nobel committee obviously overlooked my own entry entitled, “One … [Read more...] about September 7, 2025: A Semi-Intelligent Look At Artificial Intelligence

August 31, 2025: September Brings A Time Of Reflection

September 9, 2025 by webmaster Leave a Comment

September is a reflective month for me. Most of the year is behind me with just a few months left to go. What have I accomplished thus far this year and what do I have left to do? Same with life.  I am past the September of my years with no idea how much time there is ahead.  I can’t get back my yesterdays but, hopefully, I can learn from them and do a better job with my … [Read more...] about August 31, 2025: September Brings A Time Of Reflection

Dicktations: Here’s What I’m Thinking

State Sen.Steve Gooch, R-Dahlonega, has announced he is running for lieutenant governor.  Gooch is the guy who said that approving permits to strip-mine the Okefenokee for titanium dioxide to manufacture, among other things, toothpaste whitener is not a legislative matter.  It is up to the bureaucrats to decide. This, despite overwhelming opposition from Georgians across the state.  File that away and remember it when it comes time to vote.  I know I will. … [Read More...] about A long memory

Yarbrough received over 1,000 email responses last year – both positive and negative. Though most of the emails he receives support his viewpoints, one thing is for sure: Dick Yarbrough’s column speaks to people and they respond. Here is a sampling of email responses Yarbrough has received in the past:

  • Thanks for writing what we all are thinking.
  • I am annoyed by anybody who presumes to know what Georgians think.  And that, sir, includes you.
